Looks I love:
Pineapples, parrots, flamingos, and tigers oh my…and ruby slippers?
“You’ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself”
(The Wizard of Oz).
This collection is inspired by Cuba.
I adore this contrast of masculine / feminine.
Butterfly in Spanish is mariposa ~ farfalla in Italian.
I am in love with this intricate floral detail.
The beading on this dress is beautiful. And the colors are so rich.
Attention birdwatchers and more importantly ~ style-watchers. Theres definitely a bird here. At first glance I assumed it was a parrot, but now I am pretty sure its a peacock. Maybe use your binoculars for a closer look.
Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini
I love the combination of prints here. For some reason this collection gives me a nautical Peter Pan/ Pirate vibe ~ in a good way. It evokes a sense of dreaming and fairytales.
Love these delicate florals. So feminine.
Beautiful Chinese porcelain print. I love the direction Alessandro Michele has taken Gucci in.
I love that this is shot in an art museum because fashion is art – they run parallel. The bird of paradise is one of my favorite plants because my grandma had them in her yard and when I was growing up I thought that they were strange.
This collection, specifically this beaded dress, reminds me of one of my favorite paintings by Augustin Lesage – a spiritually inspired painter.
I love finding connections between art and fashion, even if they were connected.
When I lived in Chicago and attended SAIC, I designed a collection inspired by that painting for my intro to fashion design elective.
We have eight planets in our Solar System. However, outside of our Solar System there are thousands of other planets. The extra-solar planets are in orbit around another star. So far we have almost 1800 confirmed new worlds.
I love the look of a woman wearing a suit, especially a crazy one like this; it reminds me of Jimi Hendrix.
Fashion is said to be a reflection of the time. Everyone takes what is going on, what is in the air and on the street. Thats part of why everyone is often on the same page, but they also look at forecasts that predict the trends. One of my favorite things to do is look through to find all of the common threads within different collections. Take a look for yourself and try to find the similarities! Its a trend treasure hunt ~ GO!!!
